Job Overview


The Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in supporting the management of gym activities to guarantee an outstanding "Judgement Free" experience for members while also ensuring the club's financial success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of a high-performing team, including Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.


2. Help maintain a welcoming environment for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring that staff adheres to exceptional customer service standards.

3. Provide support in staff management and act as a backup for the Club Manager when necessary.

4. Aid in scheduling and supervising staff.

5. Oversee member service to ensure that staff consistently delivers a superior customer experience.

6. Assist in addressing or escalating employee concerns or issues.

Involvement in Front Desk Operations:
1. Answer phone calls in a courteous manner and assist callers with various inquiries.

2. Check members into the system.

3. Facilitate new member sign-ups.

4. Conduct tours for prospective members.

5. Address all member requests, issues, and questions.

6. Help ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.

7. Assist in ordering supplies within a specific budget based on club needs.

8. Aid in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).

9. Provide backup support for any absent employees.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Exceptional customer service skills, ideally in the fitness sector.

- Experience as a Member Service Representative in a fitness environment.

- Strong supervisory, diplomatic, and listening abilities.

- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite).

- Energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking.

- Proficient problem-solving skills.

- Current CPR Certification is mandatory.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

- Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Requirements

- Frequent standing and walking during shifts.

- Continuous communication in person or via phone.

- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

- May encounter hazardous materials during shifts.

Benefits

- Paid holidays for all exempt employees.

- Eligibility for PTO after 90 days in management.

- After one year in management, exempt employees receive paid vacation.


Planet Fitness collaborates with LIG Solutions, a trusted health insurance advisor, to create tailored plans for exempt employees, along with a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to reimburse employees for out-of-pocket medical expenses and certain insurance premiums.

Employees at franchise locations are employed by the Franchisee and are not employees of PFHQ (the Franchisor).

PFHQ does not control labor or employment matters for franchisees or their employees and does not retain any authority over the terms and conditions of employment for franchisees or their employees.

Each franchisee is responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
