Position Overview

The Culinary Operations Supervisor ensures that meals are crafted in accordance with established menus and adhere to both Federal and State guidelines. Collaborates with a nutritionist to design menus that utilize seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. May assist in meal service as necessary, manage inventory, maintain records and financial accounts, and develop employee schedules. Oversees kitchen staff and dietary assistants. Engages in evaluating resident needs and contributes to their care planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the organization's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report any witnessed or reported incidents of resident abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
  • Interact with residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all resident and family information is maintained.
  • Punctually report to work as scheduled.
  • Guarantee that meals and snacks are prepared according to the established menus, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Ensure all meals are served in accordance with physician directives.
  • Confirm that all necessary ingredients for menu items are available to kitchen staff, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of kitchen equipment for dietary staff use.
  • Implement and uphold a weekly sanitation schedule.
  • Follow all infection control protocols during food preparation and equipment storage.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for all assigned budgets and seek approval from management for any expenditures exceeding the budget.
  • Oversee dietary department personnel.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and adhere to the objectives and strategies outlined in residents' care plans.
  • Monitor compliance with residents' rights among staff and personal conduct.
  • Ensure adherence to all State and Federal regulations, including those related to bloodborne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, and fire safety.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred CDM certification; if not currently held, must obtain within the first year of employment.
  • Basic computer proficiency is required.
  • If operating a vehicle for business purposes, must comply with the organization's Motor Vehicles policy.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language is essential.
  • Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Capability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Required to use a transfer/gait belt or seek assistance from another employee when lifting or carrying objects over 25 pounds. Awareness of natural body movements during routine job functions is important.
