About the Role

The Lead Tax Consultant will report directly to the Senior Manager of International Tax. This role involves engaging in a dynamic corporate tax environment, focusing on SEC tax reporting and compliance with U.S. tax regulations. Additionally, there will be opportunities to contribute to global tax strategies, transfer pricing, and special initiatives as time permits. Building strong collaborative relationships with accounting and finance teams across various divisions is essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This position is part of the Veralto Corporate Tax Team and offers a hybrid work model.

Your Experience

In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Tax Reporting: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual global tax provisions, including U.S. and foreign deferred taxes, tax liabilities, and effective tax rate components. Prepare supporting documentation for financial statement disclosures related to income taxes for SEC filings. Engage in ASC 740 analysis, including provision to return and year-end reviews for domestic entities.
  • U.S. Income Tax Returns: Take an active role in the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated federal and state income tax returns, including extensions and estimated payments. Review book/tax differences and research relevant tax laws to support positions taken on tax returns and financial statements.
  • International Tax: Prepare necessary international tax forms for U.S. federal filings, including Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 1118, and FBAR. Participate in special projects related to transfer pricing and global tax planning as time allows.
  • Internal Controls: Assist in monitoring and testing internal control processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Continuous Improvements: Identify risks and opportunities for improvement; recommend solutions and collaborate with management to address outstanding issues. Work with corporate functions and business teams to enhance processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Qualifications

The essential qualifications for this role include:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; an advanced degree or CPA is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm or within a tax department of a U.S. multinational corporation, ideally with some international tax exposure.
  • Proficient in Excel, with skills in data manipulation; familiarity with Alteryx and Power BI is advantageous.
  • Adept at driving change and enhancing efficiency through technology and software tools.
  • Experience with Corptax is highly desirable; general ledger and accounting experience is beneficial.
