Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team at Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs (Walker). As a Science Teacher, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing course curricula, providing consultation to general education teachers, and creating a safe and supportive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement course curricula in the assigned areas of teaching, ensuring alignment with Walker's educational goals and standards.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Provide consultation to general education teachers on strategies for supporting students with learning disabilities, and collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, incorporating therapeutic supports and strategies to promote student engagement and motivation.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer formative and summative assessments, providing evaluative feedback to students and parents on student progress.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues on student progress, and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in education.
