About the Role

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd is seeking an experienced Construction Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Michigan. As a remote worker, you will have the opportunity to work with complex new and renewal accounts across Auto, GL, and Workers Compensation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Customer Advocate: Understand customer risk and offer the best end-to-end solution for their insurance needs.
  • Exposure Evaluation and Risk Assessment: Use a disciplined approach to evaluate exposure and assess risk.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize risk insights, data, and models to drive informed decisions at point of sale.
  • Market Facing and Production: Work within the growing Construction division to drive market-facing and production efforts.
  • Underwriting Rules and Guidelines: Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws, and regulations.
  • Complex Assignments: Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: 5 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Brokerage or Market Facing area.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice: Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  • AVP, Level IV Underwriter: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area.
