About the Role

Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of property-and-casualty insurance, is seeking a skilled Premium Auditor to join our team in Lansing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough audits of Commercial Lines policies to ensure accurate risk classification and exposure.
  • Review and verify financial and business records to identify classification-related data.
  • Examine reported state test audit differences and respond to inquiries within established deadlines.
  • Update underwriting with operational, classification, and exposure changes that may affect insurability.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and loss control staff to share information and analyze findings.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry-related literature and communicate industry, regulatory, and legal changes.
  • Review and verify accuracy of monthly interim audits completed by Audit Associates.
  • Assist Audit Associates with questions from brokers and policyholders regarding completed audits and audit billings.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to follow process and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of industry practices, standards, and underwriting concepts.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and solve basic problems.
  • Flexibility to handle various assignments.
  • Ability to interpret and apply auditing rules and regulations per Company and Bureau guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Finance; experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior Premium Auditing experience.
  • Visual Audit system experience/knowledge.
Compensation Overview

The targeted hiring range for this role is $55,000 – 65,000. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role.

Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
