JSfirm is a leading rotorcraft organization specializing in Utility and Fire Fighting operations. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a qualified individual to join our Maintenance Department Leadership.

Position Overview:
The Chief of Aircraft Maintenance (CAM) will oversee the Maintenance Department and is accountable for managing the daily operations of all maintenance staff.

This role requires a solid background in hands-on maintenance and repair processes; however, the primary focus will be on administrative functions that provide the necessary framework for the Maintenance team to contribute effectively to the broader JSfirm organization.


Reporting Structure:

Reports directly to the Director of Operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee staffing and operational functions of the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure all company aircraft are maintained in a safe and airworthy condition.
  • Guarantee that inspections, repairs, and component changes comply with manufacturer specifications and FAA regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance protocols, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and other regulatory practices.
  • Verify that all maintenance technicians are properly trained and certified for the aircraft they service.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance activities on company aircraft.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Operations regarding the airworthiness status of aircraft and anticipated downtimes.
  • Maintain positive relationships with manufacturers, parts suppliers, repair facilities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure that maintenance personnel have access to necessary technical manuals and documentation.
  • Keep accurate work records and logbooks, ensuring compliance with maintenance documentation standards.
  • Maintain weight and balance records for all aircraft.
  • Complete and submit required reports to the Director of Operations for FAA compliance.
  • Coordinate repair services as needed outside of the main hangar.
  • Ensure adherence to FAA regulations and other customer-specific requirements.
  • Assist in developing processes and workflows to enhance safety and efficiency in maintenance operations.
  • Work collaboratively with Flight Operations to schedule periodic maintenance based on aircraft usage.
  • Participate in training initiatives for maintenance personnel, including the development of training materials.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Promote compliance with safety management systems and ensure adherence to safety policies.
  • Collaborate with management to create and implement operational processes that enhance safety and effectiveness.
  • Ensure the maintenance facilities are kept organized and professional.
  • Utilize and maintain records and communication systems as directed by senior management.
  • Support corrective actions for any deficiencies identified by safety personnel.
  • Monitor and update quality assurance procedures within the department.
  • Ensure all necessary inspections are completed prior to aircraft return to service.
  • Adhere to foreign object damage (FOD) control procedures and collaborate on updates as necessary.
  • Follow purchasing policies and exercise sound judgment regarding tool and equipment needs.
  • Approve on-the-job training records for maintenance staff as appropriate.
