Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Information Officer to lead our Information Services Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the department's IT systems and hardware, providing strategic IT leadership, and ensuring the effective use of technology to support the department's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the department's IT systems and hardware, ensuring they are available and fully operational when needed.
  • Provide strategic IT leadership, including policy direction and consultation on statewide and departmental IT systems and projects.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the Information Services Unit, including long-term strategic planning, application development and maintenance, systems analysis and support, user and technical support services, and telecommunication systems.
  • Develop and implement IT solutions and policy recommendations to support the department's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including top-level administrators, to ensure effective use of technology and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Manage and maintain the department's Microsoft O365 Cloud-Based Service and communication links to external entities.
  • Ensure the department's IT systems and practices are secure, compliant, and aligned with state and federal regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT leadership, with a focus on strategic planning, policy development, and team management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading IT initiatives and projects, with a focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, hardware, and software, including cloud-based services and telecommunication systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of IT professionals.
