Director of Event Sales + Planning

Position Overview: We are in search of a passionate and seasoned Director of Catering Sales and Planning to spearhead our event initiatives and enhance sales performance. The successful candidate will manage all facets of catering sales, from the initial engagement with clients to the flawless execution of events, ensuring meticulous planning and outstanding guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute impactful sales strategies to meet revenue goals and broaden market reach.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the catering sales team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives through effective training and motivation.
  • Work collaboratively with the Special Events Chef, Banquet Director, culinary teams, and operations to innovate and design enticing menus; guarantee a seamless transition from sales to planning to execution.
  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting for the catering and banquets division to maximize financial outcomes.
  • Establish efficient systems for event planning, communication, and client relationship management.
  • Manage billing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency, fully executing signed contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure timely and compliant responses that align with contractual commitments.
  • Coordinate essential information with the operations team, including front services, valet, restaurants, and sales teams, to guarantee a flawless experience.
  • Lead BEO meetings for internal teams to ensure comprehensive communication and alignment of expectations.
  • Supervise a team of three.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in catering sales and event planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a proven history of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to assess market trends and formulate effective sales strategies.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, adept at managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce/Delphi CRM systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to oversee events as necessary.
  • Certification in event planning or hospitality management is advantageous.
