Position Title: Environmental Regulatory Compliance Analyst
Location: Houston, TX
Work Arrangement: 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote


Position Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering environmental guidance to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws. This role involves close collaboration with management, operational teams, and other Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) professionals to identify compliance challenges and devise efficient solutions for the Permian region in New Mexico and Texas. The Environmental Compliance Analyst must possess the ability to engage effectively with regulatory agency representatives to address compliance matters. The position is based in the Houston, TX office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage air permit compliance and federal/state reporting, including OOOOa/b and NMED Ozone Precursor.
  • Understand various air quality regulations and corporate compliance programs; implement internal procedures to ensure adherence.
  • Monitor compliance with air permits and prepare regular reports.
  • Oversee emergency response activities, including spill reporting, remediation, and internal incident management.
  • Lead project management efforts, including developing bid proposals, work orders, and supervising contractors.
  • Assist in the implementation of compliance requirements for both state and federal regulations.
  • Exemplify company values by participating in safety meetings, behavior-based safety initiatives, diversity awareness programs, and other related activities.
  • Travel within southeastern New Mexico and West Texas as required.
  • Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science (Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the upstream oil and gas sector.
  • Expertise in environmental compliance, program execution, risk assessment, and project management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with teamwork, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various environmental databases.
  • Willingness to travel 25-30% to field locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with environmental compliance in New Mexico or Texas.
  • Familiarity with environmental engineering software for air emissions calculations (e.g., TanksESP, HYSIS, Symetry, ProMax, E&P Tanks 2.0v).
