Job Overview

The Environmental Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing multi-faceted compliance operations, ensuring adherence to all environmental regulations and permit stipulations to maintain operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely submission of all required environmental reports at the state, federal, and local levels, encompassing all relevant media.
  • Conduct emissions calculations utilizing spreadsheets and specialized emissions software.
  • Review new and existing regulations to assess their relevance to the facility's operations.
  • Facilitate compliance activities for industrial clients, including necessary testing and reporting to various laboratories.
  • Maintain a comprehensive schedule of compliance deadlines and requirements.
  • Coordinate sampling events to meet regulatory standards and manage compliance documentation.
  • Conduct inspections of significant industrial dischargers and assist in the development of compliance-driven Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Evaluate applications for discharge and monitor treatability studies.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and users regarding pretreatment regulations, including drafting notices of violation for noncompliance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for agency inspections and ensure all correspondence is accurate and complete.
  • Review laboratory data and quality assurance/control data, addressing any identified issues promptly.
  • Monitor permit expiration dates and notify users of renewal requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and modification of facility permit applications.
  • Compile data and generate reports for regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Participate in regulatory meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in environmental regulations and compliance, particularly in wastewater treatment operations.
  • Familiarity with Title V and NSR permits, as well as laboratory analyses and quality assurance/control.
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
  • In-depth knowledge of the operations of wastewater treatment facilities and relevant environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information effectively.
  • Proficient in using office equipment and software for compliance monitoring and reporting.
