Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii's Environmental compliance branch
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements of the Hazardous Waste and Munitions/Ordnance compliance programs
- Conduct site environmental compliance inspections of installation shops, activities, and tenants
- Assess current waste generating processes and research available technologies to improve waste minimization efforts
- Provide project reviews, oversight, and technical support at various stages, including pre-planning, design, and construction reviews
- Assess hazardous waste management and contaminated soil management
- Prepare and submit quarterly summary reports of data collected and analyzed to identify discrepancies, issues, or violations and recommend corrective actions
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of professional, post-baccalaureate experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Hazardous Waste Program Support
- Demonstrated work experience with Environmental Compliance Programs (pollution prevention, hazardous waste, munitions/ordnance disposal)
- Ability to work independently, take initiative to resolve issues, and demonstrate superior verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to pass the DoD background check for a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a driver's license by the employment start date
- The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date
- Understands the necessary communication protocols for working with military personnel
- Experience analyzing waste streams and conducting hazardous waste inspections
- HAZWOPER certification is helpful
- Experience providing munitions technical support
- Experience working in a highly structured organization
- Demonstrated knowledge of military instructions, directives, guidance, and environmental regulations and processes
- Existing National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is highly desired
