Role Summary
The HSE Environmental & Regulatory Supervisor for Murphy's US Onshore-Eagle Ford Shale (EFS) operations is responsible for leading the HSE Environmental & Regulatory team in both office and field settings. This role ensures that all operations in South Texas comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations, particularly those set forth by the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
The Onshore E&R Supervisor is tasked with overseeing all necessary regulatory and environmental filings to ensure that development and production plans are executed without delays, thereby maximizing profitability and enhancing the Company's value in its onshore development pursuits. This position also involves managing the resolution of environmental challenges arising from operational activities, such as spills and leaks, while implementing strategies to mitigate future risks in alignment with the Company's environmental policies and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident Reporting: Ensure compliance with legal reporting requirements for incidents such as spills and fires, and assess their environmental and economic impacts.
- ESG Initiatives: Collaborate with the ESG Team to uphold the highest standards of environmental, social, and governance practices.
- Flaring Compliance: Oversee permitting and reporting related to natural gas flaring, ensuring adherence to RRC regulations.
- Pipeline Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations governing pipeline safety and operations.
- Agency Interactions: Facilitate technical discussions with regulatory agencies to address operational issues and compliance.
- Waste Management: Support the management of regulated waste, ensuring proper handling and disposal.
- Air Emissions Compliance: Direct compliance efforts related to air quality regulations and monitoring.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 15 years of experience in onshore regulatory planning and permitting, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of RRC and TCEQ regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Proven results-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
