Compensation Details
Hourly Rate: $50.19

Position Overview

We are seeking multiple Central Alarm Station (CAS) Operators to oversee and manage security systems and alarms. This role involves dispatching both routine and emergency tasks and requires effective collaboration in a controlled environment. The position is part of the Protective Force Division (PFD) within the Security Organization (SO).

Due to the nature of the responsibilities, this role necessitates full-time on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity of alarm systems and computer networks; conduct testing, identify irregularities, and initiate necessary repairs and security responses.
  • Implement and comprehend comprehensive security response protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with system managers and technicians regarding system issues; assist in troubleshooting and identifying solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage radio communications with security personnel during both routine and emergency situations, documenting all activities.
  • Prioritize and dispatch security and safety personnel in line with established protocols for various response scenarios.
  • Operate and monitor surveillance systems, including closed-circuit televisions and access control systems.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and records using a computer-aided dispatch system in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Develop and uphold knowledge of relevant Department of Energy (DOE) and LLNL security protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or an active Top Secret clearance from another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
  • Ability to successfully complete a foundational CAS training course.
  • Experience with organizational policies and procedures, and understanding of DOE access requirements.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Advanced organizational skills to effectively manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues in a confined workspace.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of government access control policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Argus security system and LLNL's access control framework.
  • Current certification in the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position necessitates an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or an active Top Secret clearance from another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
