Position Overview

We are seeking multiple Central Alarm Station (CAS) Operators to oversee and manage security systems and alarms. In this role, you will coordinate routine and emergency operations while working effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability of alarm systems and computer interfaces; conduct system tests, identify issues, and initiate repairs as necessary.
  • Implement and comprehend comprehensive security protocols.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and technicians to address system malfunctions and assist in troubleshooting efforts.
  • Manage radio communications with security personnel and technicians during both routine and emergency scenarios.
  • Prioritize and dispatch security and safety personnel according to established protocols.
  • Monitor closed-circuit television systems and access control mechanisms.
  • Prepare and maintain various reports and records using a computer-aided dispatch system.
  • Develop and adhere to relevant Department of Energy (DOE) and LLNL security guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or equivalent Top Secret clearance required at the time of hire.
  • Ability to complete a foundational CAS training program.
  • Experience with organizational policies and procedures, particularly regarding DOE access requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in high-stress situations.
  • Advanced organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software applications.
  • Understanding of government access control policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Argus security system.
  • Current certification in California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System.
