Position Summary:

Role Description:

  • The Production Painters will be tasked with applying finishes to various company products, including aircraft, assemblies, parts, and test samples.
  • Engage in multiple processes such as coating application, parts identification, and minor assembly tasks in the manufacturing of company products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The organization will provide necessary training to equip employees with the skills to execute all essential job functions, including the development of innovative production methods.
  • Utilize job-related equipment (e.g., hand tools, power tools, air tools, and computers) to fulfill work assignments.
  • Conduct process activities such as painting, media blasting, masking, stenciling, and part identification marking to meet production needs.
  • Perform hand finishing tasks, including surface preparation for painting using pneumatic sanders or manual techniques.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, process instructions, customer specifications, job aids, and both written and verbal information.
  • Adhere to all customer, OSHA, ISO, and Nadcap procedures.
  • Access and comply with material MSDS data and safety policies.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, qualifications, licenses, or permits to perform assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work from elevated platforms, such as lifts, scaffolding, and ladders.
  • Set up and utilize testing equipment to ensure applications meet customer specifications through self-inspections of in-process and finished work.
  • Input all required data into the FDAQ database.
  • Execute any necessary pickup, rework, and incorporation of changes to the product.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, ensure proper disposal of materials, and adhere to the 'Clean as you Go' policy in paint booths and designated areas.
  • Keep the Paint Mix room clean and organized at all times.
  • Conduct routine minor equipment maintenance as part of daily responsibilities, including cleaning paint equipment and replacing components as needed.
  • Move products within the immediate manufacturing area using shop-assigned equipment, including ovens and overhead cranes, as required.
  • Support the continuous flow of products in the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees of the same or lower classification level.
  • Assist and demonstrate practices during all internal and external audits.
  • Provide assistance to Assembly Technicians as required or requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be flexible to work any shift.
  • Passing a respirator test is required.
  • The current operational process necessitates the Paint line to run two 12-hour shifts to accommodate recovery and normal processing.
  • This is the pay range that Cogent reasonably expects to offer for this position.
