Job Overview

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing key initiatives within the supplier quality division. This position entails overseeing various supplier quality engineering activities, including Compliance, Process, and Product Audits, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, First Article Inspection (FAI) witnessing, and the development of corrective and preventive actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enhance quality evaluation and control systems and protocols.
  • Clarify testing and inspection methodologies to ensure product and process reliability and compliance.
  • Analyze nonconformities and design issues, proposing effective corrective actions.
  • Utilize core elements of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to identify risks in product development and suggest risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review documentation for work transfer and process changes to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality control systems for materials processed into finished products.
  • Collaborate with product design teams to establish testing plans that ensure product reliability.
  • Drive the implementation of proactive quality initiatives.
  • Design and implement engineering changes to address quality concerns raised by clients.
  • Oversee both Program and Product Quality Engineering efforts.
  • Develop new inspection technologies to ensure product compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience as a Quality Engineer in the Aerospace Manufacturing sector.
  • 5-8 years of experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 standards.
  • Strong grasp of Engineering Processes, Standard Drawing Conventions, and GD&T.
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience with ISO9100 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with FAA, EAR, and ITAR regulations is preferred.
  • Experience leading customer audits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead team members effectively.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Quality Engineering tools such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and APQP.

General Requirements:

  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision assessments.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for certain defense contracts.

Additional Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in process engineering or manufacturing.

Working Conditions:

Incumbents are expected to perform tasks efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision. Physical activities may include light lifting and prolonged sitting. Vision must be sufficient to read documents and observe others. Typical office conditions apply, with collaboration with the Quality Management team and external stakeholders.
