Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer is tasked with advancing and executing critical initiatives within the supplier quality division. This role encompasses a variety of supplier quality engineering activities, including Compliance, Process, and Product Audits, MRB, FAI Witnessing, Review and Sign-off, Problem Solving, Corrective and Preventive Actions, Supplier Performance Reporting, and other Quality Enhancement Activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols.
- Clarify testing and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to ensure product and process reliability and compliance.
- Analyze and propose corrective actions for nonconformities and design issues in products and processes.
- Utilize core elements of PPAP (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans) to identify risks in product development and suggest risk management strategies.
- Review and ensure compliance with requirements for work transfer and process change management, including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
- Examine process control documentation to confirm adherence to requirements and objectives.
- Develop and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for materials processed into finished products.
- Collaborate with product design to create testing plans and methods that ensure product reliability.
- Formulate proactive quality initiative strategies and oversee their implementation.
- Design and execute product engineering modifications to address quality concerns raised by clients.
- Oversee both Program and Product Quality Engineering efforts.
- Innovate new inspection technologies or methodologies to guarantee product compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of practical experience as a Quality Engineer in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment.
- 5-8 years of FAI experience with AS9102 (FAI) standards at a quality engineering level.
- Strong grasp of various Engineering Processes, Standard Drawings Conventions, and GD&T.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience with ISO9100 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems Processes, particularly in Production, Quality, and Logistics.
- Familiarity with FAA, EAR, and ITAR standards and regulations.
- Experience leading customer audits.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Strong project management, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and lead others.
Additional Desired Skills:
- Practical experience with Quality Engineering tools and systems such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, RCCA, APQP, PPAP, and controls plans is preferred.
General Requirements:
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.
- Vision exam required prior to hire.
- U.S. Citizenship is required; hiring may be restricted to U.S. Citizens when government contracts necessitate.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college/university (e.g., mechanical, chemical, aerospace).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a process engineer or in manufacturing.
Working Conditions:
- Incumbents must perform work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Mobility: Participation in physical activities, including light lifting and prolonged sitting, is required.
- Vision: Sufficient to read documents and observe others.
- Environment: Typical office conditions, collaborating with the Quality management team and external customers.
- Typical hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours and weekend work as needed.

Salary Range:
