Position: Aerospace Finishing Specialist
Location: Kinston, NC
Contract Duration: 4 months +
Compensation: $35 per hour
Per Diem: $110 per week
Role Summary:The Aerospace Finishing Specialist will play a crucial role in the application of protective coatings and finishes to aircraft and associated components. This position involves various processes including coating application, parts identification, and minor assembly tasks in the manufacturing of aerospace products.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive comprehensive training to effectively execute all job functions and contribute to the development of enhanced production methods.
- Utilize job-related tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and air tools, to fulfill work assignments.
- Engage in process activities such as painting, media blasting, masking, and stenciling to meet production demands.
- Prepare surfaces for painting using pneumatic sanders or manual techniques.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, process instructions, customer specifications, and job aids.
- Adhere to all customer, OSHA, ISO, and Nadcap procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
- Access and utilize material MSDS data while following company safety protocols.
- Maintain necessary certifications and licenses required for the role.
- Operate from elevated platforms, including lifts and scaffolding, as needed.
- Set up and utilize testing equipment to ensure that applications meet customer specifications through self-inspections of both in-process and finished work.
- Document all required data into the FDAQ database.
- Perform rework and incorporate changes to products as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Paint Booths and designated areas, following the 'Clean as You Go' policy.
- Keep the Paint Mix room orderly and clean at all times.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and replacing parts as required.
- Assist in the movement of products within the manufacturing area using designated equipment.
- Support the continuous flow of production by training and assisting colleagues.
- Participate in internal and external audits as required.
- Provide assistance to Assembly Technicians as directed by management.
Candidates must be flexible to work any shift and will be required to pass a respirator test. The current operational process necessitates the Paint line to run two 12-hour shifts to accommodate recovery and standard procedures.
