Sous Chef Position Overview

The Sous Chef plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our kitchen operations at DIG Chefs-In-Training. This individual will collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to develop menus, recipes, and food presentations that meet high culinary standards. Additionally, the Sous Chef will lead a team of chefs and cooks, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to promote career growth and development.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to develop menus, recipes, and food presentations that meet high culinary standards.
• Lead a team of chefs and cooks, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to promote career growth and development.
• Conduct daily kitchen walks, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Manage inventory, ordering systems, and waste reduction initiatives to minimize costs and maintain quality control.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings, discussing daily menus, specials, and any pertinent information with the team.

Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
• Excellent culinary skills, including knife work, cooking techniques, and plating presentation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff members.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
• Familiarity with restaurant software and inventory management systems.

Compensation:
• Competitive hourly rate: $65,000 - $85,000 per year.
