Responsibilities

The Shift Leader is responsible for protecting the interests of the business by practicing and maximizing operational excellence, quality, training, marketing, and profit-generating procedures throughout their shift. The primary job is setting the overall tone and atmosphere of the restaurant during their shift. Operational efficiency, skill development, and community building are a constant thought in the mind of this leader.

  • Leadership
  • The Shift Leader must exemplify the actions, decision-making skills, and responsibilities of operating a successful restaurant. They must support the vision of the operator, commit to personal growth and development, and work with the operator to develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP) for themselves and other members in the operations department.
  • Coaching and Development
  • The Shift Leader must coach and develop to potential all team members, observe and validate cashier keystroke errors, and take disciplinary action in writing or verbally to any individual reporting to them on their shift.
  • Quality and Customer Experience
  • The Shift Leader must support and communicate the CREATE RAVING FANS strategy during their shift, ensure that the 1st Mile of service is taken care of, and that 2nd Mile Service opportunities are taken.
Requirements

The Shift Leader must be a hands-on leader who is a teacher at heart and is energized by a quick-paced environment. They must be engaged daily in the following areas:

  • Leadership
  • Support the vision of the operator.
  • Commit to personal growth and development.
  • Work with the operator to develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP) for themselves and other members in the operations department.
  • Support, practice, and encourage a High Performance Leadership Team (HPLT) culture.
  • Coaching and Development
  • Coach and develop to potential all team members.
