Compliance Paralegal Role at Investors Heritage

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Compliance Paralegal to provide essential legal and compliance support to our attorneys. As a leader in the insurance industry, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and legal support to ensure the success and integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough legal research, particularly in statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to the life insurance industry.
  • Review, interpret, and analyze state and federal laws to ensure the company remains compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of internal compliance procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to provide general legal support, including drafting memos, summaries, and reports on various compliance matters.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise on potential impacts to the business.
  • Maintain organized records of legal research and ensure proper documentation of compliance activities.
  • Assist in preparing compliance-related reports, filings, and audits as needed.
  • Utilize spreadsheet software to organize data, track compliance efforts, and generate reports.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification required.
  • 2+ years of experience in legal research, compliance, or a related field, ideally within the life insurance or financial services industries.
  • Strong understanding of legal statutes, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Exceptional legal research skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the life insurance or financial services industry, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks specific to insurance.
  • Project management skills.
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
