Job Description

Sazerac is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Intern to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in reviewing and interpreting environmental regulations, sustainability trends, and industry benchmarks.
  • Support the preparation and submission of compliance reports and documentation.
  • Help monitor and track environmental performance metrics and compliance status.
  • Participate in internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental policies.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating environmental compliance records and databases.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of environmental compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of training materials and presentations on compliance topics.
  • Assist in the development and execution of sustainability projects and programs.
  • Help track and analyze sustainability metrics and report on progress.
  • Support the creation of sustainability reports and presentations.
  • Assist with organizing and promoting internal Environmental events.
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify and implement sustainable practices.
The Internship Experience:

This is a 12-week summer internship that will provide you with hands-on experience in environmental compliance and sustainability. You will work closely with our Environmental Compliance team to develop your skills and knowledge in this field.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with a mentor to develop project plans, set goals, and receive continuous feedback.
  • Participate in professional development workshops and networking opportunities.
  • Engage in social and philanthropic activities.
  • Present your end-of-summer project to the team.
  • Potentially earn a full-time position post-graduation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability, law, or a related field.
  • Anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, innovative, solution-oriented mindset, with a passion for learning.
  • Team player with effective communication skills and a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Strong interest in environmental compliance, regulations, and sustainability.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Louisville, Kentucky or Frankfort, Kentucky for the duration of the internship.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age by the start of the internship.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
