Key Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor:

As a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at Liberty Military Housing, you will oversee the maintenance operations of a multi-family military residential community. Your role will involve supervising and guiding Service Technicians, Groundskeepers, and Housekeeping staff in the upkeep and repair of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, plumbing, as well as the cleaning and maintenance of communal areas.

Your Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee the maintenance team in their daily tasks, including maintenance, installations, repairs, service requests, and upkeep of grounds and common areas.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff while ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance and repair projects.
  • Manage departmental budgets, ensuring all projects align with financial guidelines.
  • Prepare specifications for significant planned projects, negotiate bids with contractors, and inspect vendor work for quality and compliance.
  • Procure maintenance supplies and materials efficiently, ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of service requests and maintenance projects according to quality standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, addressing unsafe practices and ensuring staff are trained in safety protocols.
  • Comply with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity (property management experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team.
  • HVAC and EPA certifications are preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in key trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and appliance repair.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency (ability to use mobile devices and PCs).
  • Valid driver's license required; may involve use of personal or company vehicles.
  • Availability for on-call assignments and emergency overtime as needed.
  • Ability to respond to service requests within a 60-minute timeframe.
  • Willingness to travel to regional locations for work-related activities.
  • Physical capability to lift/carry supplies up to 65 lbs, frequent bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures and potentially hazardous situations.
  • Capacity to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.
