Job Overview

The Solar Energy Technical Lead (Senior Project Engineer) is responsible for spearheading the technical evolution of methodologies and tools within the solar energy desktop team, focusing primarily on independent engineering projects. This role involves exploring innovative advancements in the solar sector and refining modeling techniques.

You will be tasked with performing solar resource assessments and energy evaluations, ensuring high-quality deliverables and prompt responses to client inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

As the Solar Energy Technical Lead:
  • Oversee and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Shape the technical vision and modeling strategies for the solar energy division.
  • Collaborate with the team to discover and implement technical innovations.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior team members, fostering their technical development.
As a Senior Project Engineer:
  • Ensure the timely and efficient execution of high-quality solar energy analysis tasks.
  • Conduct pre-construction energy evaluations, which include:
    • Gathering, validating, and analyzing meteorological data for solar resource assessments.
    • Assessing project constraints and potential risks.
    • Estimating plant losses and calculating assessment uncertainties.
    • Generating Energy Production Estimates.
    • Preparing Energy Production Reports for clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to guarantee the timely delivery of superior products while working in conjunction with other teams and business units as necessary.
  • Communicate complex technical issues clearly with clients.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited institution, along with eight years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the technical terminology pertinent to the field.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards applicable to areas of expertise.
  • Proven ability to apply project management principles in complex, innovative, or unique product scenarios.
  • Awareness of industry challenges, requirements, and issues.
