Position Purpose:

The Chief Advancement Officer will lead and oversee the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of all fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and stewardship efforts. This role also encompasses the strategic planning and execution of marketing and recruitment strategies for the organization. Responsibilities include development, database management, communication, and relationship-building activities that foster positive connections with captains, families, donors, volunteers, staff, businesses, and community members, thereby promoting organizational growth.

The individual in this role will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and implementation of an advancement and marketing program for Best Christmas Ever (BCE). The primary goal is to secure the necessary revenue to fulfill BCE's mission and specific program objectives by cultivating strong relationships with families, donors, volunteers, staff, businesses, and community members. The Chief Advancement Officer will collaborate closely with leadership in marketing, public relations, and fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Stewardship:

  • Plan, manage, and execute annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, gift processing, database management, acknowledgments, and stewardship.
  • Achieve $500,000 in revenue for the Annual Fundraiser.
  • Secure $500,000 in BCE Commitments.

Event Management:

Oversee the planning, management, promotion, and execution of all fundraising and friend-raising events, including the annual BCE Golf Classic and third-party events.

Volunteer Engagement:

Educate and engage key volunteers in mission-driven fundraising and participation in BCE events, fostering a culture of philanthropy within the organization.

Marketing and Communications:

  • Collaborate with the BCE team, partners, and key volunteers to coordinate marketing initiatives that attract and retain volunteers.
  • Plan and implement marketing, recruitment, and retention strategies for volunteers, including networking, vendor fairs, and promotional materials.
  • Maintain high standards for all communications, including print publications, digital content, and media relations.

  • Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all work-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in fundraising and gift solicitation, with a minimum of $1 million raised annually over the past three years.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in development, sales, marketing, communication, and/or volunteer management.
  • Ability to inspire generosity and engage effectively with BCE's diverse partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership in achieving organizational goals.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in a nonprofit environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
