Position Overview:
As the Chief Technology Officer at TruFood Manufacturing, you will spearhead our technological initiatives, ensuring optimal and efficient operations with a significant emphasis on infrastructure, including servers, hardware, and security. You will also oversee development activities such as report generation, master data management, ERP systems, and application development.
This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will operate within a hybrid collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Information Systems Leadership:
- Lead and assume responsibility for all organizational hardware and software, with a strong focus on infrastructure.
Support Excellence:
- Manage the IT help desk, ensuring high levels of support and responsiveness.
Strategic Decision-Making:
- Establish policies for the procurement and maintenance of technology, including both Cloud and On-Prem solutions.
Risk Management:
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and recover business systems.
Policy Development:
- Formulate policies, procedures, data security standards, and schedules.
System Integrity:
- Ensure system backups, maintenance, server upgrades, and patching are performed regularly.
Security Measures:
- Implement advanced firewalling, intrusion detection, and malware protection strategies.
Financial Stewardship:
- Develop and manage the IT annual budget, leading strategic discussions that require technological support.
Strategic Vision:
- Create and oversee a comprehensive information systems plan that aligns with organizational growth targets.
Business Requirements Analysis:
- Identify technology business requirements in collaboration with leadership, advising on evaluation, ROI, selection, implementation, and maintenance of information systems.
Process Improvements:
- Propose and identify new enhancements to business processes.
Growth Facilitation:
- Enable organizational growth and scalability through systems thinking and documentation standardization.
Development Vision:
- Provide guidance to the development team to effectively address business challenges.
Team Development:
- Cultivate a customer service-oriented technology team, fostering professional growth beyond individual skill sets.
Prioritization of Improvements:
- Utilize metrics to identify and prioritize areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing or directing an information systems environment, including ERP.
- Advanced understanding of ERP system utilization within a manufacturing context.
- Strong project management capabilities with a proven track record in leading strategic initiatives and achieving outstanding business results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, database engines, operating systems, servers, and telecommunications hardware and software, with a focus on infrastructure.
- Familiarity with paperless and mobile applications suitable for a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience in negotiating vendor contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Highly motivated to address business needs and enhance processes.
- Ability to comprehend the financial implications of business processes.
