This is an exciting opportunity for a Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our innovative team. As a key member of our team, you will perform and support state-of-the-art calculations and validation experiments as required under the mentorship of your manager or more senior engineers with a focus on maintaining and improving safety within the nuclear industry.

  • Perform engineering calculations related to nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, severe accident analysis, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, and other duties as assigned by manager
  • Prepare appropriate documentation supporting evaluations and analyses * Verify routine design evaluations and analyses performed by others, as qualified.
  • Interface on a limited basis with customers, vendors, and other internal functional groups on engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments
  • Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments and support the business strategic initiatives
  • Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and assist in implementation as well as identify and assist in the development of new business opportunities.
  • Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budgetary requirements
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical)
  • 0 - 3 years of experience
  • Coding in one or more of the following:
    • MathCAD
    • C++
    • Fortran
    • Visual Basic
    • Dispersion Modelling
    • Severe accident modeling and analysis
    • Thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis (i.e., RELAP, MAAP, MELCOR)
    • Facility hazard modeling and analysis, equipment qualification, and/or laboratory experience with custom experiments
