Nuclear Safety Engineer

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team. As a Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our nuclear facilities. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading company in the nuclear energy industry and contribute to the development of safe and efficient energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform engineering calculations related to nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, severe accident analysis, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, and other duties as assigned by manager
- Prepare appropriate documentation supporting evaluations and analyses
- Interface on a limited basis with customers, vendors, and other internal functional groups on engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments
- Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments and support the business strategic initiatives
- Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and assist in implementation as well as identify and assist in the development of new business opportunities
- Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budgetary requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical)
- 0 - 3 years of experience
- Coding in one or more of the following: MathCAD, C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, Dispersion Modelling, Severe accident modeling and analysis, Thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis (i.e., RELAP, MAAP, MELCOR), Facility hazard modeling and analysis, equipment qualification, and/or laboratory experience with custom experiments
