We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Analysis Engineer to join our innovative team at Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to provide clean energy solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities- Perform and support state-of-the-art calculations and validation experiments under the mentorship of senior engineers, with a focus on maintaining and improving safety within the nuclear industry.
- Conduct engineering calculations related to nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, severe accident analysis, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, and other duties as assigned by manager.
- Prepare and review documentation supporting evaluations and analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Verify routine design evaluations and analyses performed by others, as qualified.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and internal functional groups to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.
- Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments and support business strategic initiatives.
- Identify and recommend improvements in processes on a continuing basis and assist in implementation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, Physics).
- Prior Nuclear Industry experience preferred.
- Prior Westinghouse Internship experience preferred.
- 0 - 2 years of experience. New Grads encouraged to apply.
- Coding skills in one or more of the following: MathCAD, C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, dispersion modelling, severe accident modeling and analysis, thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis (i.e., RELAP, MAAP, MELCOR), facility hazard modeling and analysis, equipment qualification, and/or laboratory experience with custom experiments.
