Join Our Team as a Nuclear Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. As a Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our nuclear facilities.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work on a variety of projects related to nuclear safety. You will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, preparing documentation, and interfacing with customers and vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations related to nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, severe accident analysis, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, and other duties as assigned by manager
  • Prepare appropriate documentation supporting evaluations and analyses
  • Interface on a limited basis with customers, vendors, and other internal functional groups on engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments
  • Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments and support the business strategic initiatives
  • Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and assist in implementation as well as identify and assist in the development of new business opportunities
  • Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budgetary requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical)
  • 0 - 3 years of experience
  • Coding in one or more of the following: MathCAD, C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, Dispersion Modelling, Severe accident modeling and analysis, Thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis (i.e., RELAP, MAAP, MELCOR), Facility hazard modeling and analysis, equipment qualification, and/or laboratory experience with custom experiments
