Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform state-of-the-art calculations and validation experiments to maintain and improve safety within the nuclear industry.
  • Conduct engineering calculations related to nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, severe accident analysis, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, and other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare documentation supporting evaluations and analyses.
  • Verify routine design evaluations and analyses performed by others.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and internal functional groups to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.
  • Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments and support business strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in processes and assist in implementation.
  • Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budgetary requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, Physics).
  • Prior nuclear industry experience preferred.
  • Prior Westinghouse internship experience preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Coding skills in MathCAD, C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, dispersion modeling, severe accident modeling and analysis, thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis (i.e., RELAP, MAAP, MELCOR), facility hazard modeling and analysis, equipment qualification, and/or laboratory experience with custom experiments.
