About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Analysis Engineer to join our innovative team at Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving safety within the nuclear industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform state-of-the-art calculations and validation experiments to support nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, severe accident analysis, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, and other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Prepare documentation supporting evaluations and analyses, and verify routine design evaluations and analyses performed by others.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and internal functional groups to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.
  • Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments and support business strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in processes and assist in implementation, and identify and assist in the development of new business opportunities.
  • Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budgetary requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, Physics).
  • Prior Nuclear Industry experience preferred.
  • Prior Westinghouse Internship experience preferred.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience.
  • Coding skills in one or more of the following: MathCAD, C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, dispersion modelling, severe accident modeling and analysis, thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis (i.e., RELAP, MAAP, MELCOR), facility hazard modeling and analysis, equipment qualification, and/or laboratory experience with custom experiments.
