Pride Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional support within a medical facility. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing patients for their appointments, which includes setting up examination areas, managing patient check-ins and check-outs, and gathering comprehensive medical histories.
  • Conduct necessary pre-examination physical assessments, such as measuring and recording vital signs as instructed by a physician, and assist during medical examinations as required.
  • Perform basic medical tasks, including dressing changes and suture removals, under the guidance and authorization of a physician, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples as directed, and carry out routine sterilization of medical and dental instruments following established protocols.
  • Address unscheduled requests for physician consultations within the clinic as directed.
  • Proactively monitor the Specialist calendar to optimize appointment scheduling and communicate any openings to the relevant staff.
  • Support Specialists in preparing patients for examinations, ensuring all necessary medical information is documented accurately in the system.
  • Maintain accurate clinic logs and ensure examination rooms are consistently stocked, sanitized, and ready for patient interactions.
  • Oversee the daily log for the Emergency Cart, monitor medication storage conditions, and manage sharps disposal containers.
  • Conduct quality control checks on laboratory equipment and maintain appropriate records.
  • Facilitate COVID testing for both staff and patients as required.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Completion of a 2-year Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is required.
  • Possession of a current Medical Assistant certification.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical environment, particularly with elderly or frail populations, is essential.
  • Experience in Home Health or Clinical settings is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Compensation: $18 to $24 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
