Position Overview

The Youth Engagement Program Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting students in their academic endeavors and facilitating enriching after-school activities. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with teens and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to students with their homework and academic projects.
  • Collaborate with the Teen Instructor and Research Specialist to organize and implement additional after-school programs.
  • Support the daily setup and cleanup of the teen program, which may involve lifting and moving furniture and supplies.
  • Ensure the teen area is well-organized and materials are properly maintained, including shelf-reading and collection upkeep.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with middle school students, their families, school personnel, and community stakeholders.
  • Help maintain discipline, safety, and order at the program site.
  • Exhibit consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation, Experience & Skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Some college experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine enjoyment of working with teens.
  • Proven commitment to engaging with youth and adolescents.
  • Ability to establish rapport with the teen demographic.
  • Familiarity with suitable activities and resources for teens.
  • Proficient in using technology, including the Internet and social media platforms.
  • Awareness of community issues and current events.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possession of a current valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements

This role involves a variety of physical activities, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and arranging spaces for events.

Additional Information
  • Position reports to the Branch Manager.
  • Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
  • This position remains open until filled.
