Today, we stand as one of the largest workforce providers within the federal Job Corps program.

With a workforce exceeding 2,000 employees nationwide, we serve approximately 9,000 young individuals aged 16 to 24 each year, primarily in residential settings. Our academic and vocational training programs are accredited and lead to nationally recognized industry credentials.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for both students and staff. This role involves investigating accidents and incidents to promote resolution and minimize future occurrences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all integrity guidelines and procedures, ensuring the accuracy of student data.
  • Assist the Safety & Security Department in maintaining a secure environment at the Center.
  • Conduct investigations into accidents/incidents under management's direction, preparing necessary reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and assessments of all Center facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards.
  • Enforce occupational safety and health regulations and standards.
  • Document incident and accident investigations according to established timelines and requirements.
  • Conduct regular security tours of the Center and assist in monitoring and supervising students.
  • Respond to emergency situations and requests promptly.
  • Oversee Center security, visitor control, and student accountability.
  • Assist dormitory staff in conducting inspections and searches for contraband as needed.
  • Maintain the security and cleanliness of Center facilities and property.
  • Provide residential, recreational, and transportation assistance as required.
  • Deliver quality work and complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Maintain personal attendance, accountability, and productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Utilize job knowledge effectively to fulfill all required responsibilities, proactively maintaining necessary skills.
  • Mentor and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Offer high-quality supervision and management to the student population, taking appropriate actions to positively influence student behavior.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality programs and services for students, continuously seeking improvement.
  • Communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, contributing meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate solutions before taking action, ensuring prompt follow-up on issues.
  • Collaborate with staff from all departments to provide effective supervision and services to students.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including temporary assignments in other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with advanced degrees preferred. Experience in Job Corps or related programs is advantageous. A valid in-State Driver's License is necessary, along with meeting Company insurability requirements. Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift, pull, push, carry, reach, stoop, and crouch. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lift 40 pounds and assess loads to request assistance when needed.
