Business Development Associate

Join Canterbury Consulting Incorporated as a Business Development Associate and play a pivotal role in raising capital from wealth managers for the firm's private capital solutions program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prospect, establish, and cultivate relationships with potential investors, including RIAs and wealth managers, by presenting the firm's private fund of funds and other private market solutions.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with both prospective and existing clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their investment needs and providing regular updates on fund performance and market developments.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine the sales strategy for the firm's private capital solutions, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Create, refine, and present compelling pitch books and investment proposals tailored to prospective clients, effectively communicating the value of the firm's offerings.
  • Develop original content, including tearsheets, presentations, and analytical materials, to support new business activities and client engagement.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and market developments through continuous research, attending relevant conferences, and networking with industry professionals.
  • Work closely with internal teams across research, marketing, consulting, and client services to ensure cohesive and effective client engagement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles within the financial services industry, with a strong preference for experience in private markets.
  • Firm understanding of private equity and private credit investment opportunities, with the ability to discuss complex financial concepts confidently.
  • Exceptional business writing skills, including grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess client needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create polished, professional presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively, adapting language and tone for different audiences.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
