What We Do

We aim to deliver a world-class education to students from underserved communities in Lynn and Boston. Our student demographics reflect those of local schools regarding race, socioeconomic status, English Language Learners, and students receiving special education services.

We promise families that their children will graduate college and enter the workforce equipped to excel academically, thanks to their foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and core knowledge in science and social studies. We also commit to instilling a passion for learning and resilience in our students, preparing them to contribute positively to their communities as future educators and leaders.

Who We Are

KIPP Massachusetts began its journey in 2004 and currently operates two districts: KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School and KIPP Academy Boston Charter School. Each district comprises various campuses catering to different grade levels.

In Lynn, we serve grades K-12 across three schools, while in Boston, we serve grades K-8 across two schools. Our student population is diverse, with significant representation from Hispanic and African American communities.

Across both districts, we serve over 2,100 students each academic year.

KIPP Massachusetts collaborates with the KIPP Foundation, a national network of public charter schools dedicated to preparing students from underserved communities for success in college and life. With over 242 KIPP schools across 20 states and the District of Columbia, we believe in providing excellent academic environments, empowered educators, and comprehensive support for student success.

Lead Teacher Role

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Duties
  • Ensure every student feels valued and challenged.
  • Create a positive and secure learning atmosphere.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with provided curricula.
  • Set ambitious growth targets for students and utilize resources to help them achieve these goals.
  • Employ best practices to deliver rigorous instruction tailored to all students.
  • Integrate core values into lessons and classroom management strategies.
  • Analyze student work and data to refine instructional practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families about student progress.
School and Professional Duties
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions.
  • Take responsibility for personal growth and seek constructive feedback.
  • Assist with school-wide duties as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with families through engagement and communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address challenges and implement systems for student success.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with the school calendar.
Regional Responsibilities
  • Uphold KIPP Massachusetts' Code of Conduct through integrity and self-awareness.
  • Complete required certifications with support from KIPP Massachusetts.
  • Engage in regional professional development and community events.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrate a passion for student potential.

  • Possess 2+ years of full-time teaching experience.
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree.

Additional Information

What We Offer

The starting salary for this exempt position is $55,000, with potential increases based on experience and additional qualifications. We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental and vision plans, flexible PTO, life insurance, and more. KIPP Massachusetts may also offer relocation assistance for this role.
