About Us
Since our inception in 2004, KIPP Massachusetts has expanded to operate two charter districts: KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School and KIPP Academy Boston Charter School. Each district comprises multiple campuses serving various grade levels.
In Lynn, we operate KIPP Academy Lynn Elementary (grades K-4), KIPP Academy Lynn Middle (grades 5-8), and KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate (grades 9-12). In Boston, we have KIPP Academy Boston Elementary (grades K-4) and KIPP Academy Boston (grades 5-8). Our schools serve a diverse student population, with significant representation from Hispanic and African American communities.
Role of the Lead Teacher
KIPP Massachusetts seeks dedicated, skilled, and culturally aware lead teachers who can enhance our students' potential by crafting an educational experience that recognizes, values, and challenges them daily. We aim to foster a professional environment characterized by joy, excellence, care, and community, enabling educators to achieve transformative outcomes for students.
Responsibilities
Classroom Duties- Ensure every student feels valued, affirmed, and challenged.
- Establish and maintain a positive and secure learning environment.
- Develop and implement rigorous and engaging lesson plans using provided curricula and resources.
- Set ambitious growth objectives for all students and utilize available resources to help them achieve these goals.
- Employ best practices, including differentiation, to deliver engaging instruction tailored to all students.
- Incorporate core values into daily lessons and school practices, implementing effective classroom management strategies.
- Regularly assess student work and academic data to refine instructional practices.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate effectively with families regarding student progress.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including summer training and weekly sessions during the academic year.
- Take ownership of personal professional growth and seek constructive feedback.
- Engage with families through school events and consistent communication.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address common challenges and share responsibility for student success.
Qualifications
- Passion for student development and a commitment to equity.
- Proven ability to foster student growth and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
