Job Summary:

The Middle School Math Lead Teacher will be responsible for leading the mathematics department and ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education in mathematics. This includes developing and implementing curriculum, providing professional development for teachers, and analyzing student data to inform instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive mathematics curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
  • Teacher Support: Provide professional development and coaching to mathematics teachers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to effectively teach mathematics.
  • Student Assessment: Analyze student data to identify areas of strength and weakness and inform instruction.
  • Department Leadership: Lead the mathematics department and ensure that all teachers are working together to achieve common goals.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree: A master's degree in mathematics education or a related field is required.
  • Teaching Experience: A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a middle school setting is required.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience leading a department or team is preferred.
  • Curriculum Development: Experience developing and implementing curriculum is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are required to effectively communicate with teachers, administrators, and parents.
