Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: To deliver professional nursing care to patients by utilizing the nursing process. Collaborate with other healthcare team members, including physicians, to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Evaluate the patient's condition upon admission and during each shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in their status.
  • Execute procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care in the patient's medical records.
  • Provide outstanding care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating their needs, and addressing them effectively.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care, ensuring clarity by simplifying complex medical terminology.
Required Qualifications

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current Registered Nursing License in Texas or a Compact state—Required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification—Required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing—Preferred.
  • Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing—Required.

CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing—Preferred.
  • Medical Surgical ANCC Certification—Preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and writing basic English—Required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written—Required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities—Required.
  • Ability to listen, empathize, and respond to the needs of patients, families, and colleagues—Required.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency—Required.
