Position Overview:

The Cloud Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and execution of AWS cloud security frameworks aimed at safeguarding sensitive data such as PCI, PII, and PHI across various environments including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid systems. This role is integral to the advancement of a global security cloud architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement security frameworks for cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Document all implementations thoroughly through technical documentation and operational run-books.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on security frameworks.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings and capabilities.
  • Exhibit proficiency in systems automation platforms and technologies.
  • Act as a representative for the Security Platform in the development and execution of the overarching global cloud enterprise architecture.
  • Engage with stakeholders through presentations and collaborative planning sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Security Architecture and/or Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with AWS.
  • 5 years of experience in building and deploying applications using Continuous Integration and Delivery methodologies is preferred.
  • Proven experience in architecting solutions within AWS.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as VPC Networking, IAM, KMS, CloudFormation, EC2, API Gateway, Kubernetes, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, RDS, DynamoDB, and Lambda is preferred.
  • Expertise in researching, implementing, and communicating infrastructure-as-code solutions across the enterprise.
  • Ability to utilize various tools including Stash, Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Gradle, Groovy, YML, and AWS security features (WAF, GuardDuty, Security Groups, IAM, etc.).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JSON, Ruby, C#, PowerShell, and YAML.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban is preferred.
  • Familiarity with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management tools (Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible) is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise applications in terms of architecture, development, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to apply software development and testing knowledge to resolve a variety of challenges.
  • Experience in the assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a wide range of security technologies and processes.
  • Working knowledge of standard cloud-native authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc.).
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services.
  • Familiarity with cloud security and governance tools, cloud access security brokers (CASBs), and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience in threat modeling and design reviews to evaluate security implications of new technologies.
  • Ability to articulate technical viewpoints to diverse audiences and make informed technical risk decisions.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture and collaboration within cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in technical writing.
