Role Summary:

The Billing Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the precision and promptness of billing documentation across various service programs and funding sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships with payers and manage contracts, including updates to terms and conditions.
  • Oversee billing configurations in the MyEvolv software system, ensuring all essential information is accurately recorded, including service details, eligibility of individuals served, and funding sources.
  • Evaluate internal billing processes and identify opportunities for enhancement or efficiency improvements. Understand and utilize the billing functionalities within the MyEvolv system, including benefit assignments and billing regulations.
  • Assist program managers in the billing preparation process by collecting, organizing, and entering necessary data in accordance with established timelines and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize the rate of clean claims and troubleshoot any issues that may disrupt billing operations.
  • Work alongside billing specialists and administrative personnel to resolve denied claims and address any discrepancies with various funding sources.
  • Support the management of accounts receivable and assist in collection efforts.
  • Conduct quality assurance and internal audits to ensure compliance with billing codes, regulations, and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in billing, ideally within healthcare, human services, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Associate degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with billing software, especially MyEvolv, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of billing regulations for various funding sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Adept at prioritizing and managing multiple deadlines.
  • Compliance with organizational background checks is required.
