Position Overview:

340B Health is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join our dynamic non-profit health care trade association. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Legal and Policy Counsel.

The successful candidate will provide support in regulatory, legal, and legislative advocacy related to health policy and drug pricing, particularly concerning the federal 340B discount drug program. Responsibilities will include drafting advocacy materials, educating member hospitals on compliance and pharmacy operations, and offering critical insights on policy developments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead staff efforts on litigation associated with 340B, including monitoring ongoing lawsuits, reviewing legal documents, and keeping staff and members informed about developments.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel on filings for 340B Health, especially regarding amicus briefs, including assisting in the development and review of factual and legal theories.
  • Work alongside other staff, hospital members, and stakeholders to formulate formal policy positions and draft comments and letters to federal agencies.
  • Act as the staff lead on specific issues as assigned, ensuring a thorough understanding and keeping colleagues updated on relevant developments.
  • Engage with members individually to help them navigate and respond to policy changes and program developments.
  • Track and inform members about state legislation and trends affecting 340B, assisting them in understanding and advocating on state-specific matters.
  • Prepare and present at conferences, webinars, regional roundtables, and other events.
  • Contribute to the development of the 340B Coalition conference program.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of three years of legal experience.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Familiarity with health care, pharmaceutical policy, Medicare, Medicaid, and hospital-related issues is advantageous.
  • Experience in litigation, administrative appeals, or within a law firm is a plus.
  • Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail and diligence in legal and legislative advocacy matters are critical.
Additional Information:
  • Staff are expected to work in the office a minimum of three days per week, with flexibility on other days as needed.

  • Some travel may be required, including attendance at biannual conferences.
Compensation and Benefits:

340B Health offers a competitive compensation package that includes health, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, retirement plan matching, and more. The salary range for this position is $130,000-$170,000.
