JOB SUMMARY:

At Face to Face Health and Counseling Services, Inc., we are dedicated to addressing the needs of youth. Our services include healthcare, counseling, and programs tailored for homeless youth. The Resource Navigator plays a crucial role in fostering trusting relationships with youth while delivering essential services at SafeZone, a Drop-In Center designed for those experiencing homelessness.

This position entails a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drop-In Services
  • Engage with youth at the center in a respectful and meaningful manner, assisting them with various resources available both at the center and in the community.
  • Oversee the organization and operation of the Resource Room and food shelf.
  • Maintain inventory logs for the Resource Room.
  • Source goods from external partners.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while welcoming and checking youth into SafeZone.
  • Manage crisis situations in the space, employing de-escalation techniques in a calm and professional manner.
  • Assist youth in securing emergency housing and/or shelter.
  • Support the daily operations of the drop-in center by helping at the front desk, clothing closet, computer lab, kitchen, or other areas as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supportive Services
  • Facilitate access to supportive services and resources.
  • Establish healthy and appropriate boundaries with youth.
  • Encourage healthy adolescent development among youth.
  • Document youth outcomes in relevant databases.
  • Complete necessary paperwork promptly.
  • Transport clients as needed to help them achieve their goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the agency and with community youth-serving programs.
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement team for donation procurement.
  • Work in partnership with other staff, fostering teamwork and professional relationships with clients and external agencies.
  • Deliver all services in alignment with evidence-based principles for assisting youth in overcoming homelessness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.A. degree in social services or extensive relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working with youth facing homelessness or other barriers.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Experience with positive youth development and harm reduction approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High reliability and integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to meeting youth needs.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising good judgment and involving others when necessary.
  • Good crisis management skills and the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • A valid driver's license and current automobile insurance are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to frequently lift food and donations in and out of shopping carts and vehicles.
  • A valid driver's license and current automobile insurance are required; ability to travel in all weather conditions.

PAY & BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position ranges from $22 to $23 per hour, depending on qualifications. Face to Face also provides benefits, including health, dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, a 403b account, as well as generous PTO and paid holidays.
