Regional Sales Duties
  • Collaborate with the established sales team to expand the creosote pole market in Texas and neighboring states, fostering growth and development opportunities.
  • Effectively promote Koppers' capabilities to the target market, cultivating new accounts and strengthening customer relationships.
  • Engage in account management through regular customer contact, traveling 60% of the time to ensure effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Prepare and submit quotes and bids to optimize profit for the division, aligning with company goals.
  • Translate customer demands into actionable insights for the production plants and procurement team.
  • Identify and develop new accounts by nurturing relationships, driving long-term growth and expansion.
  • Analyze monthly financial reports to guarantee profit targets are met, ensuring the division's success.
  • Coordinate orders with the Somerville plant location, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Manage inventory levels at production plants through data-driven analysis and customer collaboration, establishing optimal stocking levels.
  • Lead customer restoration efforts during emergencies, serving as the primary point of contact between the customer and production plants, requiring occasional work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attend industry-specific conferences to strengthen relationships and foster growth opportunities for Koppers.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage customer contacts, ensuring effective communication and relationship-building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales or Marketing preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of sales experience required, with a Bachelor's degree or 5 years without a degree.
  • Experience working with utility customers in Texas recommended.
  • Ability to create detailed, complex reports using established procedures.
  • Willingness to travel 60% of the time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Basic understanding of price development, costs, and margin analysis.
  • Strong team player with ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-starter with ability to work remotely.
  • Basic knowledge of financial reports.
  • Must possess a strong entrepreneurial drive, track record of initiative, personal responsibility, and ownership of work to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual financial goals in a high-growth organization.
  • Must possess excellent presentation, writing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to create and deliver convincing arguments covering a broad range of complex issues.
