Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and facilitate classroom success.
- Assist in developing engaging, challenging, and universally designed lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Implement the UDL Framework to create curriculum units that incorporate differentiated instruction.
- Support instruction in core subjects such as reading, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Provide assistance during small group instruction.
- Facilitate student participation in special classes including Gardening, Music, Spanish, PE, and Art.
- Regularly assess student progress and utilize data to inform instructional practices.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, special education providers, ELL teachers, and other support staff.
- Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance and grading.
- Lead Morning Meetings and organize student meals.
- Ensure student safety during recess and other activities.
- Contribute to the upkeep of classroom displays and bulletin boards.
- Foster a classroom environment that nurtures students' emotional, cognitive, and social development using Responsive Classroom techniques.
- Engage with parents and families to enhance student learning and serve as a representative of the school.
- Participate in school events and activities beyond regular hours.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Possess an AA, BA, or MA, or a high school diploma/GED with successful completion of the Praxis Parapro exam.
- Have coursework in early childhood education, elementary education, or human development.
- Experience working with children or students with special needs is preferred.
- Exhibit strong family partnership skills.
- Demonstrate excellent communication abilities with diverse groups.
- Commit to meeting the needs of a varied student population.
- Show a history of teamwork and community involvement.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $32,000 - $52,000 annually
Additional salary incentives may be available based on language proficiency assessments in Spanish or Amharic.
Compensation is determined by educational qualifications, certifications, and experience. Employment is contingent upon annual evaluations and staff interest. Benefits include child care and health savings plans, transportation deductions, wellness activities, health benefits, disability insurance, and a retirement plan with matching contributions.
All staff members are subject to background checks and fingerprinting to ensure student safety.
