Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum, Instruction, and Assessment:
  • Design and implement engaging, challenging, and universally accessible lessons that accommodate learner variability.
  • Utilize the UDL Framework to create and execute curriculum-aligned units featuring differentiated instruction.
  • Instruct and evaluate students in English Language Arts.
  • Regularly assess student progress and leverage data to inform instructional planning.
  • Collaborate with Inclusion teachers, ELL Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Related Service Providers, and Teaching Fellows.
  • Work alongside Instructional Coaches to develop inclusive and engaging lesson plans.
  • Foster a classroom environment utilizing Responsive Classroom techniques.
  • Engage with parents and families to support student learning and represent the school positively within the community.
  • Showcase student work in alignment with current unit standards.
  • Participate in school events beyond regular hours.
  • Fulfill additional curriculum, instruction, and assessment responsibilities as assigned.
Accountability:
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of student work using various assessment tools, including anecdotal records and performance assessments.
  • Maintain a weekly grade book according to school guidelines.
  • Utilize technology platforms to enhance student achievement.
  • Analyze student data regularly to refine instruction and ensure equitable practices.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education is preferred.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree must have a passing score on state-required assessments for the grade level they will teach.
  • 1-2 years of teaching experience in an urban educational setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and experience with constructivist teaching methods.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A proven track record of teamwork and community involvement.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $57,500-$88,500, based on educational qualifications, certifications, and experience. The successful candidate will receive an annual contract, with renewal contingent upon evaluations and interest. Benefits include child care and health savings plans, pre-tax transportation deductions, and regular staff engagement activities. Additional offerings include health benefits (medical and dental), disability insurance, and a retirement plan with a matching contribution.

To ensure the safety of all students, all staff members will undergo fingerprinting and background checks prior to employment.
