$18.00 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility is to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of all communal spaces, which include but are not limited to the lobby, fitness center, spa, restrooms, stairways, hallways, vending areas, elevators, and service zones on guest floors, in addition to back-of-house facilities such as offices and storage areas.

Assist room attendants by preparing rooms, replenishing linen supplies, and gathering necessary items.

Respond to requests from guests, front desk personnel, and housekeeping supervisors, as well as any tasks assigned by management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver friendly and professional customer service.
  • Maintain positive relationships with guests at all times.
  • Oversee cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of designated work areas.
  • Perform cleaning of assigned rooms or public spaces to the highest standards as required.
  • Report any damage or theft in rooms or public areas.
  • Complete maintenance work orders for guest rooms or public spaces.
  • Clean windows as necessary.
  • Sweep and mop floors as scheduled and needed.
  • Promptly address and clean up any spills.
  • Load and unload supplies and equipment to stock guest room linen closets.
  • Keep floor closets clean and organized; remove trash, wipe down shelves, sweep floors, and arrange inventory appropriately.
  • Transport dirty linen, glassware, and trash from room attendants' carts to the correct area.
  • Ensure stairwells are clean and free of debris.
  • Maintain cleanliness of entryway mats and guest hallways.
  • Evaluate and recommend cleaning products and equipment; manage inventory of housekeeping supplies.
  • Engage in training that supports the established cleanliness standards.
  • Adhere to all prescribed safety practices and methods.
  • Suggest improvements to supervisors that may lead to cost savings for the organization.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Basic understanding of microbial growth prevention and control.
  • Awareness of infection control measures.
  • Familiarity with safety labels on cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Understanding of potential adverse reactions when mixing cleaning agents.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with evaluation methods for cleaning products and equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping operations.

SUPERVISION:
  • Reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Work is assigned based on objectives, priorities, occupancy, and deadlines.
  • Independently manages tasks according to established policies.
  • Consults with supervisors for complex or controversial issues.
  • Plans and executes daily assignments independently.
  • Work is reviewed to ensure compliance with objectives and regulations.

GUIDELINES:
  • Utilizes established cleanliness standards set by the Housekeeping Manager and industry guidelines.
  • Guidelines include verbal instructions and organizational regulations.
  • Adapts to unique situations while prioritizing the interests of the organization.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is conducted in a hotel and casino environment within a climate-controlled setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This role requires significant physical activity, including climbing, lifting, bending, and reaching. Expect to spend considerable time stocking closets and assisting room attendants in preparing guest rooms, which includes making beds, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms. The position is physically demanding, with the potential to lift items weighing up to 70 lbs.
