The Opportunity

This role is situated within the Diagnostics Division, focusing on enhancing healthcare performance through financial leadership.

We are dedicated to empowering informed medical and economic decisions that transform health management across various life stages. Abbott's diagnostics instruments facilitate over 10 million tests daily, providing critical lab results for countless individuals.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for delivering financial guidance to the Core Diagnostics Commercial Organization in the United States. This organization offers a wide array of laboratory solutions aimed at improving healthcare outcomes. The role involves:

  • Preparing and presenting detailed financial reports, including strategic plans and long-term forecasts, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Developing innovative financial tools to aid in strategic decision-making and performance evaluation.
  • Identifying and executing strategies to enhance profitability and optimize financial operations.
  • Maintaining robust controls to ensure asset integrity and adherence to relevant policies; analyzing financial outcomes, assessing risks, and recommending strategic actions.
  • Overseeing month-end financial processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of P&L, balance sheets, and sales data.
  • Leading a high-performing financial team, fostering collaboration, driving results, and supporting staff development through mentorship and performance management.
  • Streamlining planning processes for the division, coordinating essential timelines and deliverables.
  • Presenting monthly financial reviews to senior leadership.
  • Ensuring that environmental health and safety goals are met and promoting compliance with related policies.
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of an effective Quality System.

This position is accountable for:

  1. Executing strategies related to financial planning and reporting.
  2. Contributing positively to organizational goals in both the short and long term.
  3. Demonstrating continuous improvement in financial planning and reporting practices.
  4. Creating an environment that promotes cross-functional collaboration.
  5. Managing and developing reporting staff, providing mentorship as needed.

The role requires a high level of leadership experience, with the ability to influence and guide others effectively. A strong foundation in finance or accounting is essential, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree is advantageous, along with relevant experience that develops the necessary skills for this position.
